Embodied: A Thesis Exhibition

The Embodied body of work started from a process of recording my emotional states, hour by hour, using a language of watercolor hues in varying intensity in order to observe my inner psyche. With time and experimentation, this process was moved from a flat grid onto the cross contours of the human body, in an attempt to bring to light the inner world of the person behind the form. This turned into a body positivity focused group of works seeking to find the stories of our body, in every wrinkle, every scar, every pucker of skin. Our bodies carry the culmination of the experiences we have lived. For some of my subjects, that is the reality of motherhood, carrying new life inside themselves. For others, the story is one of body dysmorphia or addiction. In every person, however, is a beautiful vulnerability to share one's most sacred adventures.
